Child & Teen Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Comprehensive Psychological Services offers a Child and Teen Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for young people who need more structured behavioral health support than traditional weekly therapy but do not require inpatient care. The program combines a higher level of therapeutic support with the ability for children and adolescents to remain connected to home, family, school, and daily life. Program availability varies by location and time of year.
Who Child & Teen IOP May Help
- Children and adolescents experiencing significant emotional or behavioral concerns
- Youth struggling with anxiety, depression, mood concerns, or school functioning
- Young people who need added structure after a crisis or higher level of care
- Families needing more intensive support than weekly outpatient treatment alone
What Treatment May Include
- Group therapy and social development
- Individual therapy focused on emotions, thinking, and behavior
- CBT- and DBT-informed coping skills
- Goal setting and motivational support
- Parent and family consultation
- Coordination with schools and other treatment providers when appropriate
- Resiliency and maintenance planning
Family Involvement
Parents and caregivers are an important part of treatment. Family involvement may include consultation, education, treatment planning, and support for carrying skills from the program into home and school settings.
