Spencer Moncur, ACMHC

While I am new to the counseling field as a counselor, I am not new to the counseling field. I have spent much of my adult life working with youth in a variety of treatment centers in Idaho and Oregon.  After moving to Utah in 2015, I chose to settle down and get a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC).

I was introduced to sand tray therapy while in my graduate studies and have been enthralled with it since.  I have utilized this modality effectively since I started my internship during Grad school.  I have taken several additional trainings to supplement and to keep supplementing my knowledge in this area. It is one of the forms of therapy that I think is best experienced rather than talked about.

I believe like Winnie the Pooh that “I’m not lost for I know where I am. But however, where I am may be lost.” Within each person is the seed to knowing how to “find” themselves and the strength to change their destination.

When not in office, I am usually engaged with my family, jewelry; spray-paint art or some sort of stonework. I also am an avid old school pen and paper role-play nerd. I love to see where creativity takes me.
