Lucas D. Baker, PhD

Dr. Lucas Baker is a clinical psychologist specializing in forensic and psychological evaluations. He earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of South Dakota in 2023. He completed an APA-accredited internship in 2024 at the George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Clinical rotations included neuropsychological assessment, posttraumatic stress disorder clinic, primary care, substance use rehabilitation, complementary and integrative health, and neurology.

After completing his APA-accredited internship, Dr. Baker pursued a postdoctoral fellowship in police and public safety psychology in Denver, Colorado, focusing on forensic assessment and fitness-for-duty evaluations. Examples of his work in this area include evaluating law enforcement personnel for duty readiness and conducting psychological screenings for high-risk public safety roles.

Dr. Baker’s ongoing research centers on the intersection of psychological health, occupational and traumatic stress, and workplace functioning—particularly among frontline professionals—and incorporates advanced assessment and psychometric methods. His findings, which include work on developing and validating specialized screening tools, have been published in peer-reviewed outlets such as the Journal of Traumatic StressOccupational Medicine, and Nature’s Scientific Reports.

This expertise informs his current forensic and neuropsychological evaluations, supporting thorough, evidence-based assessments for individuals and organizations.
